VI PCCC Łódź - Łagiewniki 2007

Łódź - Łagiewniki, 09 - 14 July 2007

The VI Polish Clergy Chess Championship took place in the Higher Theological Seminary of Franciscan Fathers from 9 to 14 July 2007. Participating were ten priests, a seminarian and a religious brother. Mr Zygmunt Wielecki – a state class referee – refereed the Championship. The format was a 9-round Swiss system.

The winner was Fr. Zbigniew Wądrzyk from Gdańsk, who scored the most points possible over nine matches. It was his fifth victory and he won another championship title. In second place was Fr. Stanisław Bąk from Ryszkowa Wola, Archdiocese of Przemyśl, whose second place finish was most deserved. The skill level of the other participants proved to be very balanced.

The games ran smoothly. Despite the fierce competition there was a mutual kindness. The first three players received commemorative cups, and all participants received diplomas and prizes (including books on chess funded by Penelopa publishing house).
